Free A Family® helps children overcome poverty through community programs for parents and caregivers in agriculture, health, nutrition, literacy, and more. The end result for all participants is

Free A Family® is an efficient way to help a child lead a life of hope. Through the use of representative families, Free A Family® keeps administrative costs low. Each quarter you’ll receive an update about the representative family in your selected region. This update provides a snapshot of the life changing effect your gift brings to a child and her family each month.

1. How can I help poor people through Free A Family
Your monthly Free A Family® gift will free a child and his family from the bonds of poverty. Through community programs aimed at helping families help themselves, you partner with Free A Family® in providing parents with the tools and training they need to provide the following for themselves and their children:
- Nutritious food all year round
- Clean water
- Improved health
- Education
2. What is Free A Family?
Free A Family® is an empowering program of change. Free A Family® supporters partner with staff on the field to provide life-changing opportunities for children and their families through community based programs. Christian training programs in the areas of agriculture, health, nutrition, literacy, income generation and more provide mothers and fathers with the skills and training they need to provide a better life for their whole family for the long term.
3. Why Participate in a Free A Family Program?
By giving a monthly gift to Free A Family®, you are helping a child and his family break the bonds of poverty, one month at a time. Parents are equipped with the training and tools they need to improve the health of their children, and be able to send them to school. All of this is done in a community-based approach, meaning that the whole community is engaged in poverty-reducing programs. So as you help a child see a hopeful future, you’re also helping an entire village.
4. How does Free A Family® work?
To begin, you make your first gift and select one of five regions of the world to support, choosing from Asia, Latin America, Eastern Africa, Western Africa, or Southern Africa. Then you’ll receive a postcard with a photo and information about the representative family in that region. Each quarter you’ll receive an update about this family, as a representation of the life changing ministry you’re providing to a child and his family through Free A Family®.
5. Why does Free A Family® use “representative families”?
The Free A Family® program uses representative families to ensure that the largest percentage of supporters’ gifts goes to helping boys and girls and their families around the world. A representative family allows supporters to see how Free A Family® is changing lives for the better while at a greatly reduced cost than pairing one child or family with each supporter. It is just one way that CRWRC works to be good stewards of the gifts received.
6. What do I receive as a Free A Family supporter?
To begin you’ll receive a postcard with a photo and information about the representative family in your selected region. Each quarter you will receive an update about this family, either by mail or email, to help you learn about how the children and parents’ lives are changing because of Free A Family®. This is a cost-effective, efficient way for you to see how your gift is making a difference for a child and her family.
7. How much should I give each month as a Free A Family® supporter?
Because of the efficiency of the Free A Family® program, you can help a child and her family have an opportunity to change their lives for as little as $22 each month. That’s only 72 cents a day! This is the recommended gift amount; however a gift of a greater or lesser amount will also help children and their families in need. Please give as you are able.
8. Who is Free A Family and CRWRC?
Free A Family® is a program developed by CRWRC, an international relief and development organization. CRWRC engages in disaster response and community development work in approximately 30 countries around the world. Free A Family® is a program focused specifically on children and their parents, empowering parents through community programs to improve the health and well being of their children. This is achieved through supporters like you, who give every month to help another child and her family break the bonds of poverty.
