Weekly Prayer Requests

From Calvin College: More than a thousand members of the Calvin Academy of Lifelong Learning (CALL) meet on campus to take classes, hear lectures, and support the mission of the college. Praise God for these “senior citizen” students at Calvin who serve as excellent reminders to our younger students that you can be an agent of renewal at any age!

From Calvin Theological Seminary: Please continue to pray for Calvin Seminary's search committee in the process of looking for a new president for the seminary.

From World Missions: Pray for Jeff Bos and his colleagues at the College of Christian Theology in Bangladesh as they evaluate the college’s curriculum and programs. Pray for open eyes for seeing how things are going and for Spirit-led discernment on how to continue equipping leaders for service in their communities.

From Servicelink: Please pray for two ministry teams leaving this week for service projects. Twenty-four students from Trinity Christian College will spend their spring break with Project HELP in Virginia, working in the home repair program for low-income residents. Members of Covenant CRC from Sioux Center, Iowa, will be doing a service project in the Dominican Republic. Please pray for safe travel, good health, safety on the work sites, and team unity.

From Back to God Ministries International: Pray for upcoming Coordinator Training events (Mar. 14-20) in East Borneo and the Batam Islands to prepare leaders for establishing new Listener Communities. Pray that the training and Listener Communities will provide Christian discipleship for people in these remote locations of Indonesia.

5 - Friday (Race Relations: DORR)

As we look at the year 2010, the Office of Race Relations is moving forward in the ministry of racial reconciliation with the development of the Dance of Racial Reconciliation (DORR) Level 2 and our engagement in disseminating information about the Belhar Confession. Please continue to pray that the message and ministry of racial reconciliation would grow throughout the CRC.

10 - Wednesday (World Missions: Mexico)

Pray for the ministry changes happening in Mexico City as new pastors finish their service at one place to begin in another. We are learning much about the religion we grew up to think of as false.” Pray that Tariq and his sister will find truth in God’s Word.

13 - Saturday (Disability Concerns: Difficult economy)

Mikhail, a Russian military draftee, asks us to pray for him as he serves the remaining months in Siberia. He says, “I’m thankful for the daily blessings I receive through your ministry. 18 - Thursday (Chaplaincy and Care Ministry: Chaplains)

Chaplains see many people and families struggling due to job losses and cuts in government and not-for-profit spending.
