Opportunity Title: Pastor to Missionaries
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Number of Positions: One
CRCNA Ministry Involved: CRWM
Time Commitment: Approximately twenty hours per week; varies seasonally. This is an ongoing position.
Dates Opportunity is Available: Immediately
Purpose: To provide pastoral care to CRWM’s career and associate missionaries (in cooperation with the missionaries’ home churches) by building and maintaining relationships through missionary consultations, written communications, and other avenues for spiritual guidance and encouragement. These services may also be offered to partner missionaries as needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Meet with missionaries who are on home service.
• Read missionary prayer/newsletters on a regular basis; stay in contact via email and/or
postal mail with missionaries.
• Attend home service group consultations for career and associate missionaries.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in member care by attending conferences/workshops.
• Lead on-field spiritual retreats, as requested.
Qualifications:
• Five years of pastoral experience required (more preferred).
• Ordination within the CRC or RCA required.
• Prefer specialized training in counseling.
• At least three to five years previous inter-cultural experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills; experience in shepherding, mentoring,
spiritual guidance and care.
• Basic computer knowledge; comfortable with using email and the Internet.
• Willing and able to travel internationally if needed (no more than a few times a year).
• Available on weekdays and during the summer.
Expectations of the volunteer:
1) Complete and submit a volunteer application form and resume/CV.
2) Be able to pass a background check.
3) Adhere to CRCNA Standards of Conduct.

Budget: All expenses related to the pastor’s service are covered by CRWM.

• Orientation materials as well as ongoing logistical support.
