
Bangladesh Community Development & Agricultural Volunteer Facilitator
Opportunity Title: Community Development & Agricultural Programming Facilitator
Location: Dhaka & Mymensingh, Bangladesh

Area of Focus: This position will provide assistance to CRWRC-Bangladesh and its partners to further develop its agriculture/food security programming inside an integrated community development program. This position will include working alongside a Bangladesh partner staff that will act as a counterpart in the research and development of the materials used during training along with providing valuable insight into appropriate cultural methods.
Number of Positions: 1
Expected Length of Service: 52 Weeks (Can be extended with approval from the field.)
Dates Opportunity Is Available: as soon as possible
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Learn different cultural, administrative and field aspects of community development work;
2. Manage the day to day design and coordination of agricultural/food security initiative workshops in adult dialogue format;
3. Research materials available to provide training to local partner initiatives in the areas of agriculture and food security.
4. Work as a member of a team with the staff counterpart who will work alongside you to accomplish the research and training;
5. Write quarterly stories about the development of the agriculture/food security initiatives in Bangladesh;
6. Complete weekly or monthly reports regarding work.
Qualifications:
1. Mature Christian committed to serving and following Christ;
2. College or University degree in International Development or Agriculture;
3. Experience in preparing and facilitating adult participatory workshops;
4. Good written, oral and organizational skills.
5. Previous cross cultural experience. Respectful of and able to thrive in cross cultural settings or another culture;
6. Interest in learning about the many facets of health, and community development;
7. Commitment to CRWRC development values;
8. Able and willing to work in a team setting;
9. Able to work as part of a team;
10. Ability to work effectively while dealing with the ambiguity of adjusting to another culture;
11. Ability to invite others into his/her ministry through prayer and financial support;
12. Flexible, adaptable and able to view life with a sense of humor.
13. Can work independently with little direct supervision.
14. Able to physically/mentally endure challenges of living in a developing country.
Financial Requirements of Volunteer:
Estimation of $15,000 USD for 52 weeks. Includes RT Airfare to Bangladesh, Transfers, In-country travel, Insurance, Travel Costs, Monthly Living Allowance, Food, Utilities, Immunizations, Visa Costs, Cell Phone and Cell Phone Minutes.
