
Cambodia Health Programming Volunteer
Opportunity Title: Health Programming Facilitator
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Area of Focus:
-To provide research, leadership and training capacity to the CRWRC-Cambodia (CRWRC-C) Health, Nutrition and Environment Sectors of the strategic plan.
-To research and select appropriate health program materials to support the health program initiatives for partners.
-Prepare and conduct training sessions for CRWRC staff, partner staff and Community Based Organizations.
This position will include working alongside a Cambodian University student that will act as a counterpart in the research and development of the materials used during training.
Number of Positions: 1
Expected Length of Service: 52 Weeks (Can be extended with approval from the field.)
Dates Opportunity Is Available: as soon as possible
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Learn different cultural, administrative and field aspects of community development work;
2. Manage the day to day design and coordination of health initiative workshops in adult dialogue format;
3. Research materials available to provide training to local partner initiatives in the areas of health and nutrition;
4. Mentor/coach a Cambodian University student counterpart who will work alongside you to accomplish the research and training;
5. Write quarterly stories about the development of the health initiatives in Cambodia;
6. Complete weekly or monthly reports regarding work.
Qualifications:
1. Mature Christian committed to serving and following Christ;
2. College or University degree in International Development or Health;
3. Experience in preparing and facilitating adult participatory workshops;
4. Good written, oral and organizational skills.
5. Previous cross cultural experience. Respectful of and able to thrive in cross cultural settings or another culture;
6. Interest in learning about the many facets of health and community development;
7. Commitment to CRWRC development values;
8. Able and willing to work in a team setting;
9. Ability to work effectively while dealing with the ambiguity of adjusting to another culture;
10. Ability to invite others into his/her ministry through prayer and financial support;
11. Flexible, adaptable and able to view life with a sense of humor.
12. Can work independently with little direct supervision.
13. Able to physically/mentally endure challenges of living in a developing country.
Financial Requirements of Volunteer:
Estimation of $16,440 USD for 52 weeks. Includes RT Airfare to Cambodia, Transfers, In-country travel, Insurance, Travel Costs, Monthly Living Allowance, Food, Utilities, Immunizations, Visa Costs, Cell Phone and Cell Phone Minutes.
