Opportunity Title: God’s Grace in Hard Places

Location:  Guatemala City, Guatemala

Dates Opportunity is Available:  ongoing

Purpose:   Estragegia de Transformación (Strategy of Transformation) is a ministry that exists to equip the church in Latin America to effectively reach high-risk youth and their families in hard places. 

Specific Responsibilities:
1.  Education: School setting, day care centers, after school programs;
2.  Community Development: Life-skills programs, Arts and Media, Sustainability Projects;
3.  Children’s Ministry: Feeding programs, holistic outreach, christian schools;
4.  Street Gangs (Contact us for details on the current situation);
5.  Street Youth: Evangelistic outreach, Rehabilitation, Life-skills projects, mentoring and discipleship programs;
6.  Prostitution/Sexual Exploitation;
7.  HIV/Aids;
8.  Special Needs Children;
9.  Orphanages;
10.  Victims of domestic violence (mainly women and children): Justice, Awareness and Rescue program;
11. Church setting (focus on worship, outreach and local ministries).

Qualifications:
1. Must have at least an intermediate level of conversational Spanish ability. Native Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply;
2.  Mature Christian aged 18 or older, committed to serving Jesus Christ;
3.  Skill in art, music, or dance is helpful;
4.  Flexible, adaptable and able to view life with a sense of humor.

Support Services Provided: ServiceLink and CRWM agree to provide:
- Orientation materials.
- Ongoing logistical support.
- Support and assistance with fund-raising, if desired.
- The support of CRWM field staff and partners while on the field.

Requirements of the volunteer:
1.  Complete and submit a CRWM volunteer application form;
2.  Provide a current (within 2 years) criminal background check: including a vulnerable sector search.
3.  Raise prayer and financial support by inviting churches and individuals to give to this opportunity.
4.  Attend an orientation session in the Home Office (when possible, or by phone).
5.  Adhere to 'CRCNA Standards of Conduct', 'CRCNA Crisis Management Policy' and any other applicable policies and/or procedures.

Financial Obligations of the Volunteer: Approximately $3000 US
